Content Lisensing at PureTV.Live?

1. Our Commitment to Legal and Ethical Media Use

At PureTV.Live, we believe in creativity, collaboration, and respect for artists. Every video we display or share is chosen carefully to make sure it is legally available for reuse.

We follow copyright laws strictly and do not knowingly post, host, or share any video that violates the rights of its creator.

All videos featured on our site come from legitimate, licensed sources, such as YouTube videos released under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. This license allows reuse and remixing — but always with credit to the original creator.

We do not download or host unauthorized videos, and we do not encourage others to break copyright law in any way, shape, or form.

2. Understanding Creative Commons and the CC BY License

Creative Commons (CC) is a global system of copyright licenses that creators use to tell the public exactly what can and can’t be done with their work.

The license we focus on — Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) — is one of the most flexible and widely used. When a video or image is released under CC BY, it means:

You can reuse, edit, share, or even include it in commercial projects — as long as you give proper credit to the original creator.

In simple terms:

Action Allowed under CC BY? Notes
Watch or share the original video ✅ Yes No restrictions.
Download and cut a short clip ✅ Yes As long as you credit the creator and note any edits.
Post that clip to YouTube, Twitter/X, or your own site ✅ Yes Credit required, and you must link to the original video and license.
Monetize your post (ads, affiliate links, etc.) ✅ Yes CC BY allows commercial use.
Claim the video as your own ❌ No Must always credit the original creator.
Edit or cut a video marked “No Derivatives (ND)” ❌ No Only full, unedited versions can be shared.

3. How We Select and Display Videos

At PureTV.Live, we do not upload or host videos ourselves. We used mostly license purchased videos and/or movies through distribution stream providers. Some videos are also provided by our partner content developers licensed under CC and or provided through pastors and congregation presenters.

Some videos or ads are display ads and/or partner content ads.

We also embed videos directly from YouTube or other trusted content providers who have released their work under a Creative Commons Attribution license.

This means:

  • The videos remain hosted on YouTube’s servers.

  • The creators continue to receive full credit and viewership.

  • The embedded player always links back to the original source.

We use only the official YouTube embed feature, which is allowed under YouTube’s Terms of Service and ensures that videos are displayed exactly as their creators intended.

Each video featured on our site is reviewed to confirm:

  1. The uploader has marked it as Creative Commons Attribution (reuse allowed).

  2. The description or license field matches that claim.

  3. The content is appropriate and legal for public sharing.

4. Using Short Clips or Excerpts on Social Media

Sometimes, we or our community may share short clips from longer Creative Commons videos (for example, a 30-second highlight or preview) on platforms like YouTube Shorts, Instagram, or X (Twitter).

“Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)”, almost always refers to the CC BY license (specifically CC BY 4.0, unless another version is stated).

Therefore we can use the material freely for any purpose — even commercially — as long as the proper attribution to the creator is shown somewhere visible.

✅ We may:

  • Reuse the work in any form (download, embed, repost, remix, edit, cut, etc.).

  • Distribute and upload it on any platform (YouTube, Twitter/X, your own website).

  • Use it commercially, including monetized content, ads, or paid services.

This is fully allowed under the CC BY license — as long as the following rules are followed:

  1. The clip must be taken from a legitimately licensed CC BY video.

  2. The post must clearly credit the creator, including:

    • The title of the original video

    • The creator’s name or channel

    • A link to the full original video

    • A link to the Creative Commons license

  3. The clip must not misrepresent the creator’s work or message.

  4. If any changes (like cutting or resizing) are made, that must be noted (e.g., “Edited for length”).

Example of proper credit:
